Boudoir is about stripping down to bare bones.

But, not in the way one might think.

It’s the permission to let someone else see you in the most vulnerable and raw light.

It’s cracking wide open and letting the hard seep in so that the you can discover and fill in the holes.

Boudoir is pushing away the “one day’s” and “what-if’s” and embracing the right now.

It’s letting the skin that holds you fall apart.

It’s grieving who you once were, while saying hello to who you are.

I'm Writing This Because I Have To

I'm Writing This Because I Have To

I’m writing this because I have to.

I’m writing this because yesterday I spent 30 minutes in my car, in the grocery store parking lot, crying and unable to move from my seat.

I’m writing this because the last two weeks consisted of me struggling to get out of bed and some days, I didn’t.

I’m writing this because the past 5 weekends were spent photographing people’s joyous occasions and I didn’t feel any of it.

I’m writing this because I spend most of my days alone, beating myself up because I’m the only one to blame if my business fails.

I’m writing this because I know that I really have no reason to be so sad, but I do.

Delray Beach Boudoir Session

The women who stand before me are true works of art. The simplicity from this session just blew me away.

A is a florist who lives in a different state. She and I have been following each other on Instagram for years. We had talked here and there, but never met in person. She messaged me almost a year ago, letting me know she was going to be in my area and was finally ready to set up a boudoir session. She told me that she had been waiting because I was the one that HAD to photograph her (talk about an honor). We did the session in an AirBnB that she and her husband were staying in to attend a friend’s wedding. She made sure to find one that was neutral with some great natural light. The best light was in the living room, so I ended up moving the couch and some tables out of the way. Like I said in my previous post, I’ll move mountains to get my clients the best photographs.
