These two opted to do their engagement session in the bride’s childhood home, in Thomasville Georgia. It was a classic Georgia home with so much charm. They knew they wanted to incorporate their love of their dogs, as well as her love of fashion. I absolutely adored the vintage blue skirt she chose to wear at the end of their session. The camellias were in full bloom (my favorite time of year in North Florida/Southern Georgia). We got to be playful and start inside, but I love that we ended around sunset.Read More
I saw something yesterday that said, “Write your own story”. How can those 4 words evoke so much inside of me? About an hour before reading those words, I discovered something I wrote when I was in the middle of my darkest year (2017). I had lost my dog, my grandfather, my uncle and my grandmother, all within a few months. I then asked my husband for a divorce. I was spiraling, but maintaining (it was only from having support from those around me). What I wrote on the pages of my journal was why it was so important for me to write my own story.Read More
This in-home West Palm Beach boudoir session is full of gorgeous light, piercing blue eyes, geometrical tattoos, and an incredible woman. Some of my blog posts consists of stories and really deep conversations. Sometimes I feel that the photos tell their own story and no words are needed.
In running my business, it’s important that I look at algorithms, themes, and numbers. What’s the connection to this photo over other “standard” headshots? It’s pretty obvious and somewhat clichè, but we heavily connect to the eyes when looking at a photo. There is something that makes Kaylee (pictured above) approachable in this photograph. She feels like someone we could sit with and have a meaningful conversation with.
This is why professional headshots and branding for your business are so important. With everything being online now, we get to “see” people before we meet them. When I get a recommendation for a business, restaurant, company, etc., the first thing I do is go look at their website and social media. I want to see if they’ve invested in their company and how seriously they take themselves. I want to make sure I’m hiring a professional. I want to feel that connection with them before ever reaching out.Read More
I don’t normally encourage my couples to do their session inside of a hotel, but this resort was so beautifully curated. The furniture was modern and the light pouring in created this moody glow. I pushed myself out of my comfort zone with film and metering, and I’m so glad that I did. I wanted to show off the light coming through Christina’s jumpsuit, as well as the overall connection between the two of them. We finished the session on the beach, right around sunset. These are some of my favorite engagement photos I’ve ever taken. This is what can happen when you hire a photographer you trust. They gave me total freedom and trusted in the process.Read More
