What makes me more beautiful than being a safe space for other women? | West Palm Beach Boudoir Photographer

What makes me more beautiful than being a safe space for other women? | West Palm Beach Boudoir Photographer

Then, I saw my friend’s story on social media. It was a photo of me holding her daughter. It read, “Get yourself a community where your kids are loved like family.”

I was jolted back into reality.

The people I love the most aren’t looking at my insecurities. They are loving me in my strengths (and I have a lot of those). She feels safe with me holding her child.

What makes me more beautiful than being a safe space for other women?

What makes me more beautiful than my husband wanting to slow dance with me in the kitchen?

What makes me more beautiful than my daughter asking me to sing that silly song again and we both belly laugh until we’re crying.

Society has told me that my value is in keeping up my youthful appearance.

But, love has shown me that my being could never be dimmed by what the mirror reflects.

Women, look at your reflection in the eyes of those who hold you dear, not by what you tell yourself when you look in a piece of glass.

I Long For the Real | Boca Raton Boudoir Photographer

I Long For the Real | Boca Raton Boudoir Photographer

When did real life become undesirable?

When did imperfections become "fixable"?

I LONG for real. I LONG for raw.

This was a mom who took some space to explore herself.

After I left she probably made dinner for her two children in that kitchen and then washed the dishes with those very tools.

For a second, she got to mix her two worlds.

Boudoir is about grieving who you once were, while saying hello to who you are | Boca Raton Boudoir Photographer

Boudoir is about grieving who you once were, while saying hello to who you are | Boca Raton Boudoir Photographer

Boudoir is about stripping down to bare bones.

But, not in the way one might think.

It’s the permission to let someone else see you in the most vulnerable and raw light.

It’s cracking wide open and letting the hard seep in so that the you can discover and fill in the holes.

Boudoir is pushing away the “one day’s” and “what-if’s” and embracing the right now.

It’s letting the skin that holds you fall apart.

It’s grieving who you once were, while saying hello to who you are.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It is...you are...encompassing.

Boudoir isn't for everyone and neither am I

Boudoir isn't for everyone and neither am I

I want outrageous promises and to ask for outrageous demands. I want to create magic not for, but with my clients. I don’t want limitations based on based experiences or beliefs. I want to live in a world where we create our own, unique experiences. I’m not just offering an end product of art on their walls, I’m demanding we go on a journey together where there is no option other than growth and being uncomfortable at times. I want vulnerability that leads to courage. I want richness that we feel in our bones when we create together.

An Artful Boudoir Session

An Artful Boudoir Session

“For so long, I felt like I had only thought about beauty from a man's perspective and trying to be what he must find beautiful or sexy. I realized I was starting to develop my own definition of beauty and a way of appreciating it, and wanted to be a part of creating artful images that reflected/communicated my sense of beauty... a woman's sense of what's beautiful, aware that my definition of beauty is passed down to my daughter. I needed to demonstrate more self love for my body exactly the way that it is.”
