This wedding almost didn't happen. Hurricane Michael came through a few months ago and took out large parts of the northern, western coast of Florida. Small fishing towns, like St. George Island, were some of the hardest hit. Driving to Ashley and Tucker's wedding looked like a war zone. Luckily, the home they were married at was not hit. The day was already an emotional one, but especially with toasts and tears being shed over the loss in the surrounding area.Read More

Being Casandra and Andy's Carillon Beach wedding photographer is something I'll never forget. It was so full of love, warmth, joy, and dancing. Oh...the dancing! Casandra and Andy met during a night out and are really passionate about music and dancing, so much so that they flew in their own DJ from New York. These two planned their beach wedding all the way from Brooklyn New York. Peach and Pearl Events teamed with Myrtie Blue to create a gorgeous color pallet. Brian, of Myrtie Blue, and his team created a masterpiece of florals. The blush and greens mixed so beautifully with the deep purples. They turned the inside of the reception tent into an elegant reception for Casandra and Andy's closest friends and family. I couldn't keep my eyes off of Casandra's incredible cathedral length veil and metallic Prada shoes.
Casandra and Andy were kind enough to send me a little love:
"In one word – Shannon is PHENOMENAL! I live in NYC and therefore planned my wedding long distance in Panama City, FL. Shannon was very easy to work with and extremely patient with my planning questions. She was also super responsive to all of my needs. The day of the wedding, Shannon showed up early and ready to go! She was very relaxed and therefore made me and my family/friends comfortable in front of the camera. She went out of her way to capture beautiful pictures that I will enjoy for a lifetime. I thoroughly recommend her as a photographer for not just weddings, but any and all events! Loved her!"

Erin's Tallahassee boudoir session is still one of my favorites. She came into my home a little unsure of how the session would go. She, like every woman, has insecurities and doubts. This is honestly why I believe that every woman should do a boudoir session at some point in her life (if not multiple times). She showed up with her sister who ended up being her biggest cheerleader. It was such an encouraging and empowering session. It was three women constantly praising Erin and letting her know just how phenomenal she is. It was something that radiated so far beyond her beautiful face and elongated body.
People joke a lot about me having the best job in the world being that I get to photograph women on a regular basis. I truly believe my job is stellar, but I'm also realistic about the reasons women come to me to be photographed in this way. Some are in a beautiful and healthy relationship. Some women are going through changes with their body and want it documented. I have mothers come to me who are unsure of how they feel about their "new"shape. I have women experiencing divorces, breakups, engagements, marriages, babies, milestones, birthdays, and so much more. I have women who finish their session and tell me,"I've never felt beautiful before" or "That's me?!" How have you never seen yourself this way? The truth is you can be told this your entire life, by other people, and still not feel it or believe it.
IT'S MY JOB TO SHOW THESE WOMEN THEY ARE SO WORTH EVERYTHING WONDERFUL IN THIS WORLD.
If you follow me on Instagram you will notice that I love adding moving quotes to my images. I'm going to add empowering words to my boudoir blog post, as well; something I feel really paints a picture of each woman that dances in front of my camera.
For the lovely Erin:
“A strong woman understands that the gifts such as logic, decisiveness, and strength are just as feminine as intuition and emotional connection. She values and uses all of her gifts.” — Nancy Rathburn
Corinne and Whitney's same sex Santa Rosa Beach wedding was full of antique and vintage touches. They chose to have their wedding near the place that they first realized they were in love! These two couldn't stop smiling at each other. I'll let the brides tell the story:
For us, the Santa Rosa Beach is home to many of our defining happy moments, so naturally, this second home became the backdrop for the wedding we’d pictured in our minds.
Amidst the joy and excitement that guided Whitney and me down our year-long wedding planning adventure, existed jolts of concern about planning while living in different cities (Me being in Tallahassee and Whitney in Auburn), temperamental fall weather and the guarantee that the sun would melt into the night far too soon on the late fall day that the nuptials were set to occur.
By the eve of the wedding, we were encircled with close friends and family around a beachfront bonfire and were excited-beyond-worry about the upcoming day.
On November 23, 2013, we celebrated our love with the nearly 100 people to whom we credit the success of our relationship. The mutual appreciation that the we share with our guests shone through in each detail -- from the hand-painted-by-friends photo-op of Whitney and myself “tying the knot” and band made up of close friends, to the southern fusion cuisine and custom brew bar menu – noteworthy moments transformed a windy, fall day into a dream wedding for us.
