I really wish that lifestyle senior photography was around when I was graduating. We had to pose with the leather jacket or the black smock. I’m pretty sure I wore pearls. Having a lifestyle session, one that really embodied who you were, just wasn’t a thing back then.
I love that seniors are going the way of these sessions. I had so much fun photographing Katie. Capturing her personality was such a treat. I had photographed her sister when she was graduating, so I was honored when Katie’s mom contacted me a couple of years later. I love that their parents will have a portrait session of each other their daughters, to really remember that time in their lives. I’m also glad that these sisters will have real photographs to remember their years in high school. Both sisters moved away to go to college, so I hope I gave their parents a gift to treasure every time they look at them.
Senior sessions can be done at home, at a park, at the beach, their favorite hang-out spot…anywhere! Gone are the days that they have to sit with a weird jacket on and smile perfectly for the camera.
