Searching for Yourself Doesn't Always Mean That You're Lost

I photograph women at so many different phases of their lives.

I talk a lot about women coming to me who have gone through huge life events and they want to document themselves in an intimate way. I also have women who want to be photographed because they want an experience all their own, as a form of self-love.

What I’ve noticed is that every single person that’s come to me has been searching for something.

Searching for truth. Searching for self-acceptance. Searching for their definition of strength. Searching for grace upon themselves and what they’ve been through. Searching for just one photograph they feel like themselves.

No matter the case, most of these women are not lost. Most just want a place to call home in their own bodies. Most want to have a record of a time in their lives where they put themselves first. For some, it’s the first time. For others, they’ve been on a journey of self-care for a while.

No matter the reason someone stands in front of me, their vulnerability to take this journey is the most beautiful part of all.
