In-Home Family Session

I can not emphasize enough how important it is to work with a photographer who will get you family heirlooms for your home. What I mean by this is someone who will take the time to sit with you, go over the photographs with you, look at your home, decide if an album is better, decide if a framed gallery wall is better, decide if you’re someone who really is better suited for digital files, etc. I am 100% of the mind that photographs should get off of your computer and onto your walls. I also work with my clients to make sure that’s what’s going to be the best fit for them.

Sunrise Breastfeeding Session

Nicky’s husband emailed me about setting up a breastfeeding session for his wife. Immediately I knew this is something truly special that I wanted to be a part of. There was so much love from him and he knew this is something that Nicky really wanted to do. Nicky and I set up a phone call and I instantly knew that we were going to capture some incredible moments between her and Noelle.

The thing that I love about the direction photography has gone is, is that these sessions can become anything you want them to. Often, the same question comes up, “Where do you recommend we do our family session?” My answer is almost always going to be the same: Is there a place that’s special to you? Yes, family photos are about the people in them and the emotions. However, there is also an environmental element that should be considered. Where your photos take place are going to help tell your story. Let’s look at some different examples of places that I’ve photographed families and why these locations were chosen.
