Destination Boudoir Photographer

It’s crazy to think that destination photography has gone beyond weddings, but it absolutely has. I like to let people know when I’m traveling for work or pleasure because more times than not, I book a few extra sessions. These are people that live in different parts of the world, but follow my work. It’s so neat to meet people, who have been supporting me through social media for the last few years. I also book destination sessions all on their own and will often times fly or drive to them.

What It Means When Someone Invests In Me

What It Means When Someone Invests In Me

“Support small businesses”. This is something you see posted a lot on social media, or talked about in social settings. It really is every single client that keeps a small business owner afloat. Sarah Beth is one of those clients.

I’ve known Sarah Beth for several years. She first hired me to photograph a boudoir session of her, then her wedding, and again when she was pregnant with her second child. I got to witness her marry her loving husband and photograph her when she was carrying their child. Sarah Beth is a hair genius and has a lot of connections. I know that she could have very easily hired someone else for those events, but she chose me. She believes in my art and wants to make sure I flourish. This type of relationship builds my confidence, keeps me in business, and solidifies my decision to do what I do for a living. Not only that, but it allows us to build a trust. I’m able to show up and create art because I know that Sarah Beth believes in what I do, as she has hired me for three huge life events. She has become completely comfortable in front of my camera, and let’s face it, she’s a goddess (I mean, just view the photos).

It’s so easy to get lost in the emails, invoices, accounting, editing, marketing, etc. There are times that I’m so busy with everything else, it feels that photography is such a minuscule part of what I do. The truth is, it is.

It’s the days that I get to get on the phone with a woman who is facing divorce head on and is deciding, in some of the darkest days of her life, that she wants to stand in front of my camera. She wants to open her wounds, show me her new scars, and trust me to tell her story.

It’s the days that a mom emails me, telling me that she is finally pregnant after trying for many years. That she wants me to photograph this growing child that lives so deep inside of her soul, before they’ve even met.
