Finding a New Normal

The world is beginning to open back up and I’m feeling…sad.

I know, that sounds crazy, but hear me out.

Let me start by saying that I know how privileged this statement is. People have been without income, not able to see family, sick, dying, working overtime, caring for the sick and dying, living with their abusers, missing their senior year or school, and living in their depression.

I have been able to work and still provide services to my clients (past and new) through this quarantine. I don’t take that lightly.

Modern JW Marriott Resort Engagement Session

I don’t normally encourage my couples to do their session inside of a hotel, but this resort was so beautifully curated. The furniture was modern and the light pouring in created this moody glow. I pushed myself out of my comfort zone with film and metering, and I’m so glad that I did. I wanted to show off the light coming through Christina’s jumpsuit, as well as the overall connection between the two of them. We finished the session on the beach, right around sunset. These are some of my favorite engagement photos I’ve ever taken. This is what can happen when you hire a photographer you trust. They gave me total freedom and trusted in the process.
